Just be careful as extended warranty supply on the F10 M5 is rare to say the least. I tried all the usual suspects and they have all excluded this model. Oddly enough same year E63's are covered by many. I was able to get coverage through AutoNation dealer. Expensive but well worth it as mine is burins through 1qt of oil every 1K miles. Which is deemed to be "Normal" according to BMW bulletin FML!
