monoball install DIY - can someone translate?

Reading through the newtis for the thrust arm to determine whether I'm comfortable doing my monoball install DIY and it all looks pretty clear cut except for #2 under "installing trailing link" at the end. Can anyone translate this to mechanically-inclined-but-not-a-mechanic?

Also, I remember reading somewhere that monoballs don't require suspension load before tightening, unlike the stock bushings. Is that accurate?

Risk of damage!
Observe assembly sequence.
Trailing link must be screwed in normal position!

(Adjustment of normal position, see below).

Installing trailing link:

1. Install trailing link on front axle support (do not tighten down screw connection).

2. Adjust the trailing link with the swivel bearing for dimension (A).

Dimension (A) = 2 cm (vehicle on vehicle hoist, spring strut rebounded)

Note: Installing the trailing link to dimension (A) corresponds to the normal position in the compressed state!

3. Tighten tension strut at the front axle support.

Tightening torque 31 12 1AZ.

4. Press trailing link into swivel bearing and tighten trailing link/swivel bearing.

Tightening torque 31 12 2AZ.
