New 2011 BMW F10 M5 Rendering

Great M5 rendering by Jon!

BMW’s all-new 2011 5-Series sedan will be unveiled to the public in less than two weeks, but the high-performance M5 variant is still a ways off. Based on previous spy photos and our insider knowledge, our illustrator has put together a highly-detailed mock-up of what we expect out of the 2011 M5 sedan.

BMW’s M division has started testing of their seriously fast M5 sedan and we have the most revealing photos fresh from Germany’s legendary Nurburgring. While other photos have shown this prototype with fabric covering the front end, that camouflage is not present in our photos.

Up front, an M-style front fascia with larger, more aggressive intakes will be present, along with “M” fender vents. In back, we can see the traditional quad exhaust setup that graces M models. Larger brakes with cross-drilled rotors and sportier wheels and tires can also be seen.

While the current M5 is powered by a 5.0-liter V10, this latest M5 is said to be packing the twin-turbo, direct injected 4.4-liter V8 from the X5 and X6 M models. Prototype M5s with this engine are claimed to be producing around 540 horsepower – and fuel consumption is down compared to the V10.
