I had no issues with an E60 M5 that was 90k+ miles and 9 years old and way outside factory warranty. They will warranty these cars no issue. Other than that you'll have over a year to figure out that decision to have continuous coverage. Either way solid and reliable car that you'll be covered with.
A warranty is a must on any M car imho. I still have CPO coverage but will be getting a 3rd party right before CPO expires.

I was just curious where does the information come from about inability to cover a car in CA. I will be moving to SoCal very soon so this raised my concerns but I am sure there's always a way around it.
