There normally is that's why they are used at approved locations.
+1 on the radar type detectors (non GPS) warning you too late, or going off while sitting at traffic lights, or passing automatic opening doors etc, I tried them.
I accept that they may have improved now but it's whatever works for you and it's "Speed Cheetah" for me.
