I think it is held on with this enormous metal spring clip which I suspect is either vibrating from the road or passing along the road vibration to something else. I bought this in hopes of replacing it to fix the noise issue but it is such a piece of crap I can't believe this costs about $130. Don't anybody else waste money on this. I haven't taken the wheel apart but I'm guessing the solution is to pad everything to avoid vibration or else remove this thing completely.

I got this changed and also had some foam added to dampen as much of the vibration but it didn't completely solve the rattling. I gave up on this and decided to live with it.
