I read somewhere that the active exhaust valve control increases torque at low rpms. Apparently at low rpms, closing the valve on one outlet increases backpressure which increases torque at low rpms until there is enough backpressure then the valve opens.

So by deleting the valves this product and the race exhausts slightly reduce low end torque. however the difference is small enough that most people don't notice.
