Hatem3 will answer the first question!
The programming method is fail proof and doesn't require any soldering, the likelihood of the CAS4 being rendered inoperable is close to zero!
The whole process takes about 20 - 30 minutes max, so your relatives will be able to stay there and wait for Hatem3 to add your display key to your CAS4 and copy your original key. Then all parts will be returned to you and you end up having 2 fully functional keys, for less money than an original standard BMW key.
