I see you explained that in 12a but I thought there was only 1 gasket, now I'm realizing theres two and I did not mess with it... I ended up having fitment issues with the driver side but just blamed it on the downpipe. Could this have been because of the gasket being in the wrong spot?

That gasket sits in the exhaust pipe flange and the one in pic 12a is sat over the top of it, the DP sits in the middle of it when you tighten up the 2 11mm nuts it closes it all together.
In theory you should make sure you have enough room to put the gaskets on the DP then push the exhaust up to it and tighten the nuts, however on mine all I did was loosen (but not remove) the nuts and put the downpipe in place
