I am old enough to realise that measuring yourself or being measured is usually a fruitless excercise. I can find heaps of people that would probably think I've done okay, and as many think I have 'flopped' somewhere along the way.
I'm delighted that some 20 year olds can enjoy M5's. I bought my first exciting car in my 20's and loved the experience. I have a good and much more 'successful' friend that bought yet another car a few years back (I have lost count how many in his garages right now), it was a mint Ferrari F40.... You know what he really covered but couldn't afford ? a 288 GTO. If he could have bought a 288 GTO he would have coveted something else !
I am happy with the M5 coveting a Ferrari FF, that I can't afford/justify. Took me forever to splash the cash on a new set of rims. I wonder if it had been a trivial amount of money I would appreciate them quite as much
