Yes it is still rear engined but Porsche are slowly moving the engine forward with every generation...

I don’t think there is any engine over the centerline of the rear wheeel and maybe a few inches within the wheel diameter. The transmission casting transmission and axle pretty much spanned the diameter of the wheel.
