Not that it's a big deal, but yes, it's clearly a rear-engined car. You can't practically move the engine OVER the axle, because the higher CG would be extremely detrimental to handling. What defines rear, mid or front is where the CENTER of mass of the engine is located relative to the axle. People get a little bent out of shape about the "front engined" cars that are called mid-engine because the engine center of mass is behind the front axle, but that IS technically mid-engine.

Porsche may be trimming overhangs and trying to cut the length wherever they can, I'm sure that's been on the books for years, but until they decide to make the 911 a mid-engine like the 911 RSR, the fact that it is clearly rear-engine won't be changing.
