There is a big oil cooler on the front of the engine, right where the grill takes a big gulp for fresh air. For the price and availability, you likely will not go wrong with the M1 0w-40 Euro Formula. I think the key to protecting the bearings is in the selection of a good full synthetic 40w viscosity. (Find the one with the lowest Noack that you can.)
