I initially just bought the base bracket and installed a adjustable Scosche magnetic phone holder on it, but I didn’t feel like the magnets held my phone securely.

I bought one of these setups as well; thanks for the details. Much better than my old holder that clipped to one of the vents, rendering it useless. This holds my XS Max perfect.
