Are you sure that's true for the iPhone 5 variants? I know the 4/4S cradles initially had no fan (and were immediately recalled after already taking forever to be released and subsequently reissued with fans), but I'd be amazed if BMW made the same dumb mistake on the iPhone 5 version as well.
