I would believe "Remember Me" should only mean your username stored (in cookies) and supplied - not willing to try as I value the cookies I allow
and I choose to remember myself every time

Grabbing the password (to store it in a place "safer" than your memory
) should be authorized explicitly (by the browser rather than the page) as it does compromise your security in fact.
