The Religious Right, much like George Orwell's 1984, is very interested in the destruction of language as a method of thought control; remove the words from the vocabulary, and the concept no longer exists. Censorship of words like fuck and shit is only sought by those who wish people to not think about the existence of non-procreational sex or natural bodily functions, or worse: those who cannot think for themselves.

One thing that I realize is that if I am offended by something, it is solely MY PROBLEM, not yours. And I will always be more offended by closedmindedness than words.

No word offends me - its work I worry about
Our internet usage policy is quite strict. We are supposed to hit the back button if we browse anything that could cause offence (not just to me, but anyone who could possibly see my screen)etc etc. Not my rules - I just work for them
We aren't even allowed to have desktop images on.
