Mobil 1 0W40 long life was recently recommended by BMW then taken off their ok to use list.
See no reason not to use it if there is nothing better available in your area.
I use a Bosch oil filter, it has an extra guaze surround on top to trap any foreign particles
which the M or Mahle ones haven't got.
