Already flash-tuned but can I add JB4
So, I am already tuned by Mission Performance and I love my tune. However I am wanting to try jB4 and the flexibility it offers from bluetooth, logging etc.
Can I simply install JB4+bcm on top of what i currently have? Will car respond and override tune to jb4 commands or how exactly does this work? Or do i need to ask mission to tune my car back to stock before installing? Thanks |

You can install it and set it to map 0 (disabled).

Your flash tune will always be the primary tune since its done on the ecu level. For example if you are tuned for 23 psi with the your flash and then stack jb4 using map 1 you will see boost at around 27psi because jb4 map 1 adds about 4 more psi on top of whatever your ecu is running. I run bm3 with JB4 stacked on map1 and I get about 26-27lbs of boost. Hope this answers your question.

Yes you can add in the JB4 for all of its features, and use it to tweak your flash mapping. Start with a JB4 log on map4 (flash only tuning) to evaluate and then post the log to n54tech so the guys at BMS can help you optimize it.

You can do boost by gear, except you cannot go BELOW whatever is set by the flash tune (for each gear).

So, just for the sake of undersanding, if my current tune is setup at 18psi of boost at 3000 RPM in second gear, I would have to tell JB4 to do 2psi of boost at 3000 rpm in second gear as well to get to a desired 20psi of boost second gear 3000 rpm?
Next question is: If i used Jb4 do so logs of the car's performance, will it take into account the tune as well? What I mean is if jb4 will actually log the 20psi of boost that the car is making and show the ACTUAL cars perofrmance/boost/gear/rpm also taking into consideration what the tune is doing? |

Depends which JB4. The Stage 2 (with BCM) does not use additive boost, so you give the absolute target. So, if flash is 18psi and you want 20psi, enter 20psi.
Yes, JB4 reads actual pressure, actual trims, actual AFR etc. There is a DME_TARGET value that shows what the ECU is trying to achieve (stock or flash). |

You won't see 27psi with flash @ 22psi and JB4/BCM @ Map 1... there is no conflict.
The first assessment is wrong: 1. 26-27psi needs meth... Map 1 ain't gonna cut it 2. Map 1 doesn't even use the BCM... so how is it going to achieve 27 psi 3. While Map 1 may target 2-3 psi (like a stage 1), boost won't reach target |

For those that are running BOOTMOD3 and have Jb4 stacked can you do a log or a pull and tell me what your boost readings are on map1? mine reads 26-27psi when i log it via jb4 on map1. on the base Bootmod3 tune without jb4 I'm seeing 22-23psi when i log. I thought map 1 with jb4 w/bcm was an additive (+3 to 4 psi) map2 was absolute? Am i understanding this wrong? I'm curious as to what others are seeing.
