BMW G90 M5 Test Experience
This morning, I had the opportunity to test the BMW G90 M5. Here are my findings:
The G90 M5 is a heavy car, but you don't notice it while driving on the highway. It rides smoothly and comfortably, with impressive stability. However, the weight is noticeable in corners, where the car struggles to respond sharply and quickly. During acceleration, it did 100-200 km/h in 7.4 seconds according to BMW. I only did one run and recorded 7.53 seconds. Although this might be impressive for a car weighing about 2.5 tons, I must say it doesn't deliver the same powerful feeling as my tuned F10 M5. The interior is beautifully finished and packed with gadgets. Every ride feels like a luxurious experience with all the technological features you could wish for. Still, I must say that the driving experience doesn't quite match what I expect from an ///M. While it is powerful and comfortable, I miss that pure, raw feeling that I so appreciate in earlier ///M models. |

I was hoping that the demand for the G90 M5 was great enough that prices would drop on the F90. So far, no such luck. It seems as though the distaste for the G90, for whatever various reason the consumer has, is not enough to justify a nice price drop for the used F90 market.
When I purchased my E46 M3 in 2007, there was a significant drop in price in the market due to the E90-93 3 series (335) and the M3 that arrived in 2008. I saw the same thing when I purchased my F10 M5 in 2017 as the 2018 F90 had high hopes. When I purchased my G12 M760i in 2022, there was a reduction in price on the used market not only due to depreciation, but due to the arrival of the new G70 7 series. I do believe that with the G12 being the last V12 to hit the market, this car may see some appreciation. I'm also not a fan of the G90 M5 and I doubt that I'll ever purchase one, but I am still looking for the perfect LCI F90, but when will these prices drop? |

"The BMW G90 M5 weighs 5,390 lbs (2,445 kg), making it the heaviest M5 ever produced." I also really don't like the giant George Foreman grilles, hideous compared to the pretty little face on the F10. And they've made the G90 all angles. Ugly body lines compared to the F10. |

I don't want one. I live in Florida, it's almost always warm enough to drive with windows down and roof open, and just listen to this thing.

Yeah I saw this on Dragy, but come on that was a 2%+ uphill 100-200 km/h and 6% uphill from 100-150 km/h
