IRMA
To my fellow Floridians,
Stay safe, prepare for the worst and hope for the best!!! Driving around Miami today was eerily quiet as a ton of people have left the city. The beast is safely stashed in a parking garage and we're getting ready to hunker down for IRMA. Been through many hurricanes but this one's a monster. Godspeed

Please say a prayer for those folks in the Caribbean. We have been to St. John and St. Thomas in the USVI many times and they got hit hard. I cannot believe some of the heartbreaking photos and videos.
And stay safe in Florida! Dave |

Brevard county here.
Made it though okay with minimal damage. Along with my Camaro, my M5 helped hold the garage door from being caved in by the wind (with a cushion between the support and her bumper of course). Max winds reported here were 96mph with alot of tornadoes.... but it could have been much worse. Praying for the people of Naples and the Keys a speedy recovery. -Dave |

Lots of tree damage, flooding and still w/o electricity but still feeling we dodged a bullet in Miami. Having lived Andrew in 1992, I know it could have been much.
Thoughts and prayers for those in the Florida Keys, Naples and the USVI .... images coming out of there are catastrophic and very sad!!

FYI - My parents are in Naples. Yesterday I was forwarded an email the mayor sent out. The basic jist of it was lots of downed trees and power lines which will take time to clean-up, but generally the town is in pretty good shape all things considered. Largely superficial damage - roof tiles missing, screen panels blown out, landscaping torn up, etc. The Keys are another story. Sounds like they took a bad beating. They will really need our prayers and support. The Caribbean is an even worse story. We've been trying to get info specifically on the conditions in Grand Case on St. Martin. Limited info at this point given the catastrophic damage but what I have seen is total devastation. Still no word if the people we know are safe. They will need ours, the French and everyone else's prayers and support to rebuild.
