Wow 4 to zero right when I was really considering the sport. The Aim solo looks good but I don't have a PC and I just uninstalled boot amp from my mac.. I am over windows.
Thanks for the votes. |

I was also looking at both of these units. I was leaning more towards the performance too. I will probably pick one up in the spring before the track opens.

it's much more user friendly than the performance and has double the refresh rate , so it's more accurate . I said for TRACK use I prefer the Aim solo , the performance box actually is very unreliable in track . The Sport works fine on track , it's app software is not as detailed for the track version . The straight line stuff is awesome though , and is fully customizable . |

Spinny, what did you end up getting? I am going to get one and the Performance Box looks like what I need but they have three options with additional stuff I may not need. Does it work through the windshield? There is apparently some type of windshield that blocks the GPS signal and so an external antenna is required. Then there is a wall power supply that looks like it could be useful when connecting the device to the computer. However, it also looks like I could just buy a SD card and USB interface for about $5 and so no need to power the device inside, just hook it up in the car when I need to use it and it charges up.

Mine works well on the windshield. My actually picks up an adequate number of satellites through the aluminum roof of my track car. The reception is really good. I always use an SD card to transfer data from the device to my computer. I actually like the desktop analysis software. It works well for straight line testing, but the AiM Solo is MUCH easier to use on track. Much better real time user interface. |
