Help? Verify Money Factor? Hurry please
I'm picking my car up in an hour. Can anyone verify the money factor they recieved for 36 month lease. I've read .00145 and my dealer is telling is .00175.
Thanks

Also, you should strongly consider doing multiple security deposits. You can do up to 7 and each one reduces the MF by .00007. For me it equated to a 9.4% after-tax, guaranteed return - not too shabby!

No problem.
Just to confirm, you're not doing ED, right? If so, .00175 is the base rate for ED leases. BMW FS mark's up the rate and in exchange they make the second lease payment for you.

Correct, .00145 base rate from what I'm reading, which would be .00175 if doing ED. However, if you have the cash for the MSDs, get that savings!
.00145 Base Rate .00145 - (.00007 * 7) = .00096 Base Rate MSD Reduced .00096 + .0003 = 0.00126 |

If you dont have a good relationship with the dealer be prepared to pay over the buy rate of .00145. Finance departments want to make some money for pushing paper. Also if you paid US MSRP you could use that as leverage to not pay a higher MF than the buy rate

**URGENT** Doing ED on M5--Signing Paper tomorrow
I am about to sign papers tomorrow on my ED M5. I am willing to do up to 7 security deposits but I was wondering how you go to 9.4% savings after taxes. I saw ASG's post and 9.4% savings after taxes which is pretty damn good if you ask me. How did you make that calculation? I am trying to see if it makes sense for me with an MSRP of $98,200+$4500 taxes. They were willing to give me a MF @ 0.00145 with 7 MDS down to 0.00096. Over the life of a 24 mo lease that savings is only $2000.

Each security deposit up to 7 in total will reduce the MF by .00007. So you can buy the MF down to .00096 from .00145. This reduced my monthly payment by $78.

I think BMW is figuring that if you are willing/able to put more cash in the deal to cover any future damages/defaults, you're more likely to keep the car in good shape and make your payments. They reward you with a lower money factor. |

The deposits are refundable, and each deposit is equal to 1 month's payment. Since having this security deposit reduces the credit risk to BMW FS they offer a reduction to the MF for each deposit. Plus they invest the cash and make a return on it while they're holding it which offsets their cost as well.

Can anyone shed some light on a monthly payment comparison on an ED msrp m5 versus a regular delivery msrp m5? All other lease components being the same.
