Looks like the Misfire has finally gone which is a relief. been a right pain this 1, but new coil packs, Maf sensors and New spark Plugs later we have a cure.
looks like the spark plug gaps have been a big factor in all this plus the Contaminated Maf sensors from using Oily Filters. Plugs Gapped to 0.018 seems to be the sweet spot for my car anyway with stage 2 software. on to other issues now, how many times can a spark plug be removed and fitted again before it becomes a problem? had the car out last week after the bad weather had gone seems I have been lucky to not have lost the car, spark plug actually snapped whilst I was out on a test run, fuel spilling out of the cylinder head, looks like the pressure pushed the remainder of the plug and coil pack out disconnecting the Maf sensor on exit the smell of fuel was crazy, stopped as fast I could lifted the bonnet to see the aftermath the plugs where fitted 3 times from new torqued to 22nm each time anyone had issues like this or is it just me |

Very strange! Are the broken center electrode and the ceramic insulator still in the cylinder? I've had plugs in and out many more times with no problems, but not in this motor. More investigation required.

wow did your engine survive?? Where are the broken bits.
I have had plugs out over 10 times (not on this car, high power cossies, evo, GTR etc) I never torque them I just know when they are tight and never had a problem. hope it survived

yeah got off lightly this time the pressure must of pushed out the remaining electrode, had a Boroscope down inside the cylinder to check for the missing pieces of the plug, looks clean and no damage to the piston or the side walls been really lucky, I don't know for sure if they had been over torqued or whilst the engine was hot but we are sending the plugs back to Bosch to be inspected
Changed all the plugs out for new once this occurred. scary really, plugs where from the main dealer |

Those are correct, but they are equivalent to stock plugs. Don't think there is a known colder plug.

Hi guys,
i have an M5 F10 and i got Stage 1 (700HP) before 15000km. (9000 miles). Yesterday i had issues in high RPM. We removed all sparkplugs and one was damaged. Look here: Now i bought new stock plugs and now it runs again as he should. I found this post here and now i am thinking about to buy the sparkplugs from ngk with one step colder. or better two steps? Thanks and greets from germany! |

Ah OK good to know its gone.
I have a Stage ! tune pushing about 725bhp at the crank and the car has 12,000 miles I wonder why yours did what it did? Who did the tune? Does the quality of fuel make a difference to this issue? Sorry for so many questions just want to avoid any issues Thanks |

Reading the posts it seems that this issue is more evident when catless downpipes are fitted
