Exterior mods
What exterior mods do you guys recommend? I currently have black side vents and black front grills. I also have the rear m performance diffuser installed.
Besides wheels what should I be looking to do? Colour is monte Carlo blue. Thanks |

Tint as in window tint? My rears are factory tinted, law in the UK is strict on front tints so I'll leave that as it is.
UK car doesn't have reflectors on the front bumper and I quite like the rear bumper reflectors. I've been looking into lowering with the h&r springs in the near future. Can anyone comment on this kit? I will be wrapping the handle chrome asap, seen some pictures online and they look great. I'm on standard 343 wheels and I really like them. I might get them painted either very dark grey or black at some stage aswell. Anything else? No worries buddy, thank you. |

Awesome! Don't bother with the H&R, get the KW HAS kit if your not doing coil overs. Mine rides great with it, still use the EDC and best of all you can adjust the height at will. You will definitely be happy with this kit.

This is what I have done along with tailpipes, sideskirt extensions and painted front reflectors. Theres a few threads on here showing people's exterior modifications. Mine is buried somewhere as well. I would suggest looging at a few to get ideas on the route you want to go.

Maybe spacers on the rear wheels maybe? I always think it adds a real subtle aggressive look. Unless I'm wrong on our cars, because I was going to put 10 maybe 12mm spacers on my rears. When I did to my 2013 535i with Msport with the 20" 650msport wheels it looked nice and flush

if i didnt already have KW v3 coilovers - i would go with the KW HAS kit - retains the EDC function and fully adjustable height wise. Then get spacers for the stock 343m 20s. 12mm all round.
if you're getting spacers, i would suggest a stud kit. PSDesigns do a titanium stud kit - expensive at £300 but a nice addition. not sure carbon fibre looks too good on monte carlo blue, rear diffuser will be ok, but not sure about CF rear spolier, side skirt extensions or front splitter. up to you on that. personally i dont like the front splitters. I have just gone for the fang type ones that go on each side rather than a full width. I think if you go full width you lose some of the agressiveness of the front and also ride height - less room at the front under for kerbs and parking. especially if you're lowered or will be. but defiantley de-chrome - so door handles as you say, front wing vents, rear badge (or delete) and grilles.

I've looked at front splitters but for some reason I just can't agree with how they fit. I'm a bit of a perfectionist so if I doesn't fit 100% I won't be happy. I did look at high kick rear spoilers but again now sure on fitment.
I think at this point I'll just be lowering it and adding spacers. Does anybody have a problem with road rash with spacers? More than normal anyway. I will definitely be wrapping the door handle trims to go with my side vents and front grills. Having the m performance carbon diffuser I really think it adds the aggressive look that the m5 was lacking from factory. Along with fitting new exhaust tips I think the back end is now perfect. I don't really like the full carbon rear diffusers, the center section is the perfect compliment in my opinion. I'm pretty certain I'll be going with the h&r kit purely because of cost and I'm happy with how they look. |

I am in the UK and I have done most mods to my car.
21" wheels KW HAS springs Roof wrapped Exhaust mod Tinted windows Door handle inserts wrapped Roof spoiler Front Splitter Side Custom skirt extentions Rear Custom extension Rear Diffuser Gloss black grilles Black badges etc etc If you buy good quality products fitment is spot on so I would not buy cheap chinese stuff and then expect to get the best fitment. |
