bms stage 1 m5 vs m4
i did a few runs last night with my brother and another friend (both f8x stage 1 cars) and the results were surprising lol....when my m5 was stock it was identical to my friends bms stage 1 m3 from 100 to 200kph. have since installed bms stage 1 on m5 and last night decided to test it against the m4 and m3. long story short the 2 of them were identical (surprise surprise) but what was shocking was they were somehow identical(or there abouts depending on who stepped on gas first) to the m5.... so what gives anyone else experience anything similar?
i have footage with gopro but its at night. i can run it again tomorrow if anyone curious about proof of this. |

exactly ive done that same friends m3 (bms stage 1,res delete, intake) and was identical to the m5 stock (no surprise there). but this is really weird. i did a 4th gear pull with brother in m4(bms stag 1) otw home and the m4 pulled. i contacted bms to see if the unit could be faulty but i think the culprit is the heat. i think s63tu has some serious issues with heatsoak. we have like 20-35 degree weather here so i think that plays a roll. how i came to this theory (yet to be proven) is on a fun run brother stomped on gas and i reeled him in from pre dam far back starting way later than he did. wanted to see if anyone on forum was experiencing this inconsistency with f10 m5 tuned.

Why are you doing 4th gear pulls?
I had an AA piggyback, with downpipes, had no issues handling jb4 m3's/m4's with downpipes. |

I'm running an ESS tune and DP and have no issue walking tune and DP M3/4. Something must be wrong.

the inconsistency of the m5 i think is due to clutch and heat soak. Either way i wanted to hear some input from people on the forum. |

i put it up for sale because ill be doing more power mods to the car but still an odd result that day. is bootmod3 nice and reliable as a tune? i think big issue with f10 m5 is heat soak. m3/4 def has better cooling. most liekly best option wouldbe meth to help it stay cooler.

there is slip when creeping in first and reverse is where its felt most. felt it when test driving it long time ago but didnt care much but over this past year of abuse i guess shes done bud haha. i think this is affecting how much power is transferred to the ground for sure. rear right feels a lil soft too. if youre casual driver you wouldnt notice but if youre one of us youd know instantly. so i think these 2 are culperats.

Not really sure about bms but bm3 stage 1 for me was pretty nice. Car response better and feels it's more awake overall. No sound difference. If you're gonna do downpipes & air intake you can get stage 2 it will make a huge difference & sound better. bm3 will also burble with stage 2 and downpipes |
