Rough idle after valve stem seal replacement
Hey guys,
I'm after getting my valve stem seals replaced on my 2011 F10 M5. Everything went smoothly until restart. It runs rough with drivetrain error and white smoke from the exhaust. Car was off the road for 8 months because of Covid lockdowns. Hardly fuel gone bad over those 8 months? Errors I'm getting are below. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Code 140001 Combustion misfire, multiple cylinders: injection is switched off Code 140501 Combustion misfire, cylinder 5: Injection is switched off Code 140410 Combustion misfire, cylinder 4: detected Code 140310 Combustion misfire, cylinder 3: detected Code 140401 Combustion misfire, cylinder 4: Injection is switched off Code 140301 Combustion misfire, cylinder 3: Injection is switched off Code 128008 Lambda sensors in front of > Catalyst, assembly: reversed Code 140210 Misfiring, cylinder 2: detected Code 140004 Combustion misfire, several cylinders: harmful to the exhaust gas Code 140404 Misfiring, cylinder 4: harmful to > the exhaust gas Code 140204 Misfiring, cylinder 2: damaging > the exhaust gas Code 128008 Lambda sensors in front of > catalyst, assembly: reversed Code 11A002 High-pressure fuel, plausibility: > pressure too low Last edited by JaybeM5; 08-08-2021 at 04:09 AM.. |

How do I check the hpfp ? I can get a second hand hpfp to test from a mate if needs be. The white smoke settles down after a while. Would running lean cause the smoke also ?

Got it plugged into ista+ and it's showing code 152007 now. Still have misfires on cylinder 2 and 3. I changed the coils on those 2 but no change. It will start but won't take any throttle. I changed the relay beside the DME and check fuses but made no difference. I think next step is to remove the coil and injector harness and check it for continuity. Not getting any low fuel pressure now. Spark plugs were black. Cylinder 3 plug was wet. Also fuel coming from bank one exhaust. Got a shock when I thought it was oil first after mixing with the exhaust carbon.

I'm not doing this myself. My mechanic is doing it. I was with him when it happened. Just waiting on parts to come in now. The Steelers around me are not used to working on these cars. I've had it with them before and they topped my coolant bottle up to the very top and told me it would auto siphon between the 2 bottles !! I have no confidence in them hence why they are not touching it this time. Also caught them on my tracker joy riding the car doing double the speed limit when it was with them. Never again.

I'm going to buy injectors and was looking at the Bosch 0 261 500 136. Most places say they will fit the M5 but autodoc says they won't. Can anyone confirm if they do ?

Get a multimeter and test the voltage going to the coils connector. I will try and find you more details from newtis.info because I think pin number 3 in the coils goes to load-shedding relay.
