Black BMW F10 M5 Running in Socal (Video / Photos)
BIMMERPOST NEWS Black BMW F10 M5 Running in Socal Southern California appears to be a hotbed for FEP stage F10 M5 prototype testing, as multiple test cars are spotted each week. Another black F10 M5 prototype was just spotted last week (video/photos below). The chase car was no slouch - an E39 M5, and it still had problems keeping up in the beginning of the video. Although it remains clad in camouflage, we already know what the production F10 M5 will essentially look like by referencing the F10 M5 Concept, albeit with the mirrors and sideskirts seen here (which were not on the concept M5). Although the wheels have been painted black, these look to be the production wheels (the beautiful 5-spoke ones shown with the BMW Concept M5 are said to be available as an option). The most recent word has the production F10 M5 set to bow its head in public at the M Festival next month. BMW has been smartly holding back all the final technical specs, including the all so wanted horsepower figures, from the public until the final reveal of the car. What we do know is that it will be more powerful and at the same time more efficient then the outgoing E60 M5, and more powerful than the monster X5M/X6M. Is it just my imagination, or do the front fenders look wider on this one?
Also, to the best of my knowledge, this is the first time we've seen camo on the back of the deck lid like that, could it maybe be hiding a new spoiler?? |

This car is going to be gorgeous. I wish they would accentuate it a little more though. Like more aggressive side skirts and wider fenders. I can't wait for this beast!!!!!

Why do they NEVER test their cars in Maryland? Just once I want a pre-production car to roll through my area....
I LOVE the new 5 series. |

Actually, It doesnt matter. We saw at bimmerfest an X5M with the exact plates. So we have come to the conclusion that all the test cars in socal have the same plates. Which probably meant we were in fact following a different M5.

Dude...I was thinking the same exact thing (front fenders). They do look a tad bit wider...I haven't seen or heard anything stating that fenders are different than standard F-10.
