300v is listed for race applications only where it’s recommended to change the oil after only a few runs. 300-500 mile intervals. 7100 or 8100 appears to have a better advantage of protection and practicality for me. As a daily driver, I would need to change my oil every two weeks if I used 300v.

The lifespan of 300v is about 5000 miles. Not a problem for me as I change every 2500-3000 miles which equates to over 6 months. My engine is built by Mr Vanos in UK, and for warranty purposes I must use 5w40 300v, changed at max 5000 miles if I remember correctly.

Surprised you decided on a rebuild with the mileage etc. Prices on m5s and M6s are extremely low right now. Just saw a 14 m6 with 12k miles for $40k. Good luck with her |

Thanks Bro.
Yeah, I considered getting another one but certainly not the same year. Would have possibly pulled the trigger on 19 M6 grand coupe with the right specs and deal. I am happy with how I set the car up and in order to get another one built up to the same level, it would have been way more than what I put into rebuilding the engine. It can now be a nice project car for when I get something else down the road. |

Pure Performance (TJ) shipped my car back to me in an enclosed trailer over the weekend. The car was cleaned up and arrived in pristine condition. Top notch, 5 star review from me and I highly recommend. To give an example, he found a scratch on the passenger side rear panel that he didn’t think was there when I dropped it off. He was willing to take blame and get it repaired. When he sent me a photo of it, I told him that it was old and done 3 ago. Don’t know another shop who would do the same.
Back to the car. Finally got a chance to take it out for a spin as the weather has been a little crappy here. Despite being in the break-in period and staying under 4K RPM, there’s an immediate and noticeable difference than before. Power delivery is smooth and linear but also much stronger than my previous stage 2 tune was. Kinda hard to believe. Not sure if the stage 2 pure turbos have made that much of a difference but it is very noticeable. I was also concerned about how the Project Gamma clutches would react and feel to me. I asked TJ to put the stock clutches in the trunk just in case. I’ve driven a car with SSP Spec X clutches and didn’t like it at all. The PG clutches feel like stock but with stronger clamping pressure. Shifts are smooth and they marry up nicely with the turbos. TJ drove the car for a few weeks for adaptation and observation purposes. The car is flawless and ready to go. The only negative is its very loud to me. I see no need to open up the Eisenmann exhaust flaps. You can really tell the car is breathing especially now that my cold start delete was reset. My neighbor told me it sounded like a truck LOL. TJ installed one of his stage 2 tunes (free of charge) that would allow all the upgraded components to operate together in harmony. However, it’s not optimized and I’ll need a custom tune. So that’s the next step. Again, the plan is to keep power and boost at a reliable level considerate of the forged infrastructure and other upgrades. Lastly, I’ve decided to give Motul an opportunity to provide the blood. Will go with their 8100 Power 5W-50 due to the Ester based formula for increase protection. The plan will be to perform Blackstone analysis to determine what the OCI will be. Will even do an analysis on the break-in oil as well. Will provide another update after the break-in period and first oil change. Here’s a list of the upgrades and what was done. I’m curious to hear about your custom tune, your setup can now handle some very serious power levels 👀 I’m also running a stage 2 tune to accommodate my current mods, also provided by my engine specialist! And your engine oil choice is great, I will run Motul 300v Competition 5w50 after the break-in period. My current mods are: Sleeved engine block Forged JE pistons, reduced compression Forged FCP rods Upgraded KING main and rod bearings TTH950 turbos (basically Pure stage 2) Downpipes with 200 cells (race) F90 HPFP NKG plugs (2 steps colder) SSP Spec-R clutch (happy so far) Infinity cf turbo inlets Eventuri intake Project Gamma charge coolers Upgrade charge pipes RK Autowerks billet diff mount All wear parts replaced After run-in, will extensively test stage 2 before going stage 4 👊 |

SCD-1983 seems like we have similar set ups. Good luck to us both. I don’t have a custom tuner yet but I know I want to stay on the conservative side of full potential.
Let’s stay close to each other on the oil choice. Maybe we could share analysis results as well. I think our OCI’s will both hang around the 5k range so it will be interesting to see how they compare. |

Some serious builds posted, makes me jealous! Glad to hear everything is going well.
I am curious, why is the car so much louder? The stage 2 turbos allow for more sound? |

Thanks buddy, much appreciated. I will run stage 2 for a while to get used to the increased power and assure proper function of all parts. Since the engine is under full warranty until October 2024, my goal is to run stage 4 before it expires. And I’m also staying on the safe side, WMI and ethanol are not considered at this time. Let’s see what a custom tune with my setup can do, there are some limiting factors. True statement, our oil choices are very close and I will perform oil sampling after the Motul 300v 5w50 is coming up for the oil change. My change Intervall is once a year or roughly 3-5k miles, depending on the weather and kind of trips. |

In my case, the engine could withstand up to 1500 hp, but my limiting factors are turbos, downpipes , cooling, fueling and more. |

So far so good. No issues other than I can’t pass emmissions due to a stupid drive cycle fail. I’ve tried a few times to complete the process but it’s one of the most frustrating things to accomplish. 4 minutes cold start idle, 5 min drive between 20-30mph, 15 min drive at 40-50mph and rest at idle in drive for another 4-5 minutes. If you miss the marks or exceed the speed limits, you have to start the process all over again. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
At any rate, I just hit 500 mile mark and the so called “break-in”, keep it under 4K RPM’s is over. Oil change this weekend using Motul 8100 Power 5W/50. Not sure how everyone else are able to get custom tunes because I’m having worse luck just to get any of them to simply respond to emails or phone calls. Not sure what that’s about. I was however able to reach and communicate with UTKU Noa Performance. They are very responsive and so I guess that means a lot at this time. The plan is to install BM3 and do some data logging to dial in a custom tune in the next few weeks. Again, targeting the 750-800 Hp and Tq range. |

The lord knows that I have a lot of money wrapped up in tow motors for my M6 but I have no regrets on going with a forged build this time. Wishing you many more miles of blissful driving. H

I very much wanted to but after having searched for about 6 months. It was the only thing on the shelf ready to or face a few more months of down time and I was just ready to drive again.
