First scratch :(
Got her waxed after 30 days of rainy weather.... Came out with a serious beauty mark on the left rear door. I literally almost cried.
No clue when if happened, I park alone mostly. Two individual scratches, each about 2 inches long, about as wide as a whisker, in a slightly opposing arc pattern. Maybe a handbag or something as some one walked by? Doesn't matter. Looking for tips on repair. My carwash guy tried to "wax it out".... Any other ideas? I can't sleep iPhone pic attached. Car is Singapore grey |

Looks like it may buff out using a good rotary buffer and compound + polish.
Doesnt look to be too deep.

Buy a used Porter Cable, Flex, etc.. or go all out and get a Rupes (you wont regret it and may take detailing as a hobby.) Follow up with polishes like Menzerna's Polishes and Sealant. http://www.detailedimage.com/Menzerna-Polishing-Chart/ Best to learn the different pads and polishes here: I suggest watching the whole thing, really good intro to correcting paint

I've tried them all. Honestly, use tape to mask the area, touch up paint and clear coat followed by a maguires scratch xbor light compound. I've found that getting after it with heavy compound only makes things worse, likely because I'm a weekend warrior and by no means a professional. Take your time.
