Akrapovic F10 M5 Exhaust
Im getting my new F10 M5 sometime this week. Im very excited to be owning the beast. But I was wondering if anyone has a Akrapovic Exhaust installed in there M5. If so is it worth the $8,000?My dealer said if i do it my warranty will not be voided.
Ive seen many videos on youtube and it sounds alright . But i need opinons from people who have heard it from the real world. Thanks guys |

I believe that a poster from Bahrain has installed the exhaust on his F10. I have the Akra Evo system on my M3 and its is probably my favorite modification to that car. The car sounds and feels very different compared to when it was stock.
You are going to have a lot of people complain about it not being worth the money, as you can get the same power cheaper. My argument is that Akrapovic makes a product that is as much a work of art as a performance enhancement. If you just want the car to sound loud, then there plenty of other manufacturers out there. The Akra M3 setup is as loud as I would ever want it to be while being quiet enough for my car's role as a daily driver. I am planning to purchase the Akra F10 M5 system from iND and will then pretend not to care about how much is costs.

I got my Akra for my F10 M5 installed a couple of weeks ago. The right muffler had to be replaced as it was rattling very badly on cold start. Apart from that, i am loving the exhaust. It's quite a lot louder and characterful with the windows down, but not significantly louder with the windows up. However, there is no mistaking the new exhaust as there is a very perceptible difference even with the windows up and the sound is nicely more aggressive. I also noticed that the car seems to rev more freely and more responsive, and pulls harder consequently. That's a nice bonus to me as i wasn't looking for more power, but simply more aural pleasure Here's a quick pic. I din bother posting a review as i figured many have already done this exhaust.

Oh, it actually sounds better than the video posted by Akra themselves and don't waste your time revving the car stationery. It doesn't sound that different from stock that way. Get a move on and it's sheer music

Akrapovic on F10 M5
I have Akrapovic on my M5 and it is truthly amazing product.
On my e60- M5, I have Stebro exhaust and it sounds really good and you can hear it from far away. This Akrapovic is exotic exhaust and it does not create too much noise. You will love it.. and I am happy that I have this exhaust. thanks. |

Just picked up my M5 after the 1200 mile service and the Akra exhaust was also installed. I had Dinan on my e60 M5 and M6. I also had Dinan on my e39 M5. I think Akra is heads a shoulders better than Dinan. I also had Eiseman for a week on a previous car. The Akra exhaust has a quality and performance sound that is far better than any other. I love it.

I purchased my Akro Evo exhaust for my F10 M5 about 3 weeks ago and had it installed shortly after by a friend of mine who owns a local tuner-shop. The installation took them less than 90 minutes! They took the time to layout the new system on the floor to show me the workmanship. Really well made and light!
At first startup after installation...I was a bit disappointed at how "muted" the exhaust sounded from immediately firing from cranking until the warm-up cycle was completed. It seemed as though the stock exhaust was even a bit louder. But if you revved it a bit or stood on the gas - you can definitely tell it was there. Very nice sounding. Very nice. Like someone said earlier - even their website doesn't do their exhaust justice. However - after I put about 50-100 miles or so on it, it seems to have "broken-in" just perfect. Hard to explain in words but it's just right. Hasn't gotten any louder since that. It is definitely the perfect-tuned "growl" now yet the inside noise level is hardly increased. No drone. No harmonic "vibes" coming from the rear of the car. It's the perfect sounding exhaust for my daily driver. My favorite besides standing on the gas WOT is downshifting to a stop from top gear, keeping the revs below about 4K. With the engine rev-matching the downshifts and the Akro exhaust note...you'll never have to turn on the (less-than-perfect) B&O sound system. You will find yourself driving a lot with the windows down and the music off. Trust me. BTW : Since the stock exhaust is pretty much 1-piece...be prepared to transport it away somehow. I wanted to keep mine intact so I needed a truck to haul it away. Just figure that it's length runs from about mid-engine to tail-pipe tip. Just a word of advice. |

Hey guys!
For the ones who have already installed the Akrapovic exhaust, can you specify if the engine/throttle response mode in Sport Plus still makes it louder? Because on standard exhaust there is an increase in exhaust sound and crackles when you choose Sport Plus. I wonder if this still happens with the Akrapovic Exhaust. Thanks! |
