♦ Sonic MS | F10 M5 Project / Build Thread
Greetings all,
We at Sonic MS are proud to present our in house F10 M5 project - the personal daily driver of none other than Darwin (aka D) here at the shop. Fully optioned with Singapore Grey Metallic Paint and Sakhir Orange Interior. I begged D to get the 6MT but alas, he opted for the 7 Speed DCT... Here are some pics of the S63B44tu engine in all its glory. Luckily, this particular example was not affected by the recall. So far...the only mod it has are the OEM BMW PERF Gloss Black front grilles...but don't worry...that will change very soon! We will update this thread periodically as the project moves along. Until then, enjoy the rest of these pics! C&C always welcome! |

First round of mods are complete...
For exhaust - we opted for Akrapovic's latest iteration of their Evolution system for the F10 M5, complete with the latest and greatest in valvetronic technology. Hard Facts: - plus 10hp @ 5950rpm - plus 12.5 lb/ft torque @ 5200rpm - minus 27.1 lbs from bulky OEM equipment The full Evolution exhaust system consists of newly developed dual-outlet mufflers with exhaust valves, flow-optimized pipes, and an unique cast titanium X-pipe with resonators. As expected from Akrapovic, fit and finish is perfect. We've found in some instances, that Akrapovic exhaust systems fit even better than OEM equipment! Given the sophisticated machinery they utilize and the amount of R&D that goes into each and every component of their exhaust systems, it is no surprise that Akrapovic is chosen as the exclusive technology partner relative to BMW's safety car program. To accent the rear end, we custom painted the lower diffuser portion gloss black. Last but not least, we added an OEM Carbon Fiber Trunk Spoiler to finish off the rear end. Much more to follow...stay tuned! Last edited by Cal@Sonic MS; 10-10-2012 at 10:13 PM.. |

Huge question, what exactly do the valves do on the system. Eisenmann has a system with valves, but Nate at IND confirmed that their valves, which are controled by a remote, do not change the tone or volume of the exhaust.
I'm looking for a system that has a stock and sport (so to speak) mode.
