Yes, my dealership has gotten more than 4 allocations I was number 5 on the list and got mine in june.(Depends on how many cars your dealership sells) Seriously though this is some BS, how long does it take them to test some cars and figure out the EPA. My car is gonna be at the port on the 20th so hopefully the cars will At least be released by then!

M5's hit the West Coast! My car was on the Dorado Leader and it has left Port Hueneme and is headed back to Germany! It was 2 days early. So if we have M5's delivered on the east and west coasts, maybe they will release the cars!
I am going to Car Week in Monterey and I hope to pick up my car.........!! Hey, where's our M buddy - Matt Russell. I'm sure he will be in Monterey for car week |

Mine will hit port in Brunswick, GA tomorrow......I agree with everyone else here, I really think they're gonna wait till 9/1 to release these cars simultaneously east and west coast.........My dealer has been saying 9/1 from day one.....

What is gained by releasing these hooptys simultaneously? Do you really think the world cares that an M5 is being released on a specific date along with an official announcement from BMW? Clearly not...All this is doing is pissing the few M5 enthusiasts out there....

You know that BMW monitors this site , in fact the head of the M program for BMW included . If they wanted to shed light on this question they would . My belief is that they aren't going to because no one is going to like their response .

few is the key word here. there aren't enough of us out there for it to really matter. and honestly, once the cars are delivered on or around Sept 1, and we are out on the streets with our m5s, all be forgotten. |

More to the point the early buyers of the M5 are the loyal enthusiats and BMW knows they can be counted on to, if necessary, even defend the brand for any delays on release should the criticism become too harsh.

regardless, yes this does suck lol, but I've done this many times now and know that a good part of the enjoyment is the anticipation, so I'm trying to look at it from that perspective. |

i will not defend the brand for this botched release... again, nobody really gives a sh!t except us jerks offs waiting and not knowing when we will have these cars... I as well as others had the 1st one into the dealer but now it looks like that doesn't matter as the dealer will be getting their first few allocations at the same time... |

1. Same as above, CARB/EPA Cert not done yet. The EPA will move when they are good and ready, not much BMW can do to to push them. My CA guessed, but has no evidence, that one possible reason for the delay is the EPA is focusing on higher volume makes/models first as they impact a larger number of customers and the M5 is at the back of the line because it's a low volume "specialty" car. 2. The debate about whether BMW will hold the cars for a coordinated release has some truth to it. My CA does not believe BMW is holding cars specifically for a 9/1 release, but he said BMW will absolutely hold cars until they have the first car at the VPC and ready to go for most of the dealers across the country. In the past, certain dealers complained when other dealers got deliveries of new models a week or two before they did, and therefore had a week or two lead time to woo buyers with a test drive and book orders. This is not an issue on normal production cars because the coordinated roll-out is managed with the initial floor models built for dealer stock, but is an issue with "high priced, specialty" cars like the M5 when BMW makes the decision not to invest in building a stock floor model for each dealer.

I can deal with waiting ... what I can't deal with easily is the lack of info. If it is 9/1 then just tell us. Quick with all the dicking around ...

I agree as well. Tell your CA you're pissed with the lack of information and specifically ask him to provide the customer feedback to BMW. While your at it, also tell them you are very disappointed to hear the M5 Driving Experience is no longer included with the purchase of an M5. BMW needs to hear this feedback from multiple source if they are going to make any changes to their policies and procedures.
