F10 M5 Oil type / grade
Hi all.
Can anyone please clarify my understanding. Took delivery of my M5 last Thursday. In the boot there is a nice leather bag with a 1L bottle on Castrol TWS 10W-60 oil. My salesperson was surprise to see it there and the dealer didn't provide it - it came like that from the factory. The manual says to use castrol oils with 0W-30, 0w-40, 5w-30 or 5w-40 What is the correct oil?? I thought from reading here that it was Castrol LL01 5w-30 but finding Castrol TWS 0w-60 in the boot has confused me Can anyone clarify my ignorance? Thanks.

Castrol 5w-30 or Mobil 1 European 0W40 are the correct oil (for North America).
The 10w-60 is only applicable for the Normal Aspirited V8 used on the current M3. |
