2014 Audi RS7 Sedan
Quote "This car was born to blast down highways, and while Audi says it'll sprint to 60 mph in a mere 3.7 seconds, it doesn't feel like it takes much longer to make the jump to 125 mph. The seamless eight-speed automatic transmission just keeps sliding from one gear to another, and then you blink and you're outrunning Gulfstreams on takeoff....
Other than the vague steering, there's little to dismiss about the RS7. It takes what is easily one of Audi's best-looking cars and stuffs it full of as much personality as it can take. Far from vulgar, however, the monstrously powerful sedan is both sophisticated and wickedly fast, and neither personality is very hard to find. BMW and Mercedes may have ruled the super sport sedan segment in the U.S. with little effort over the past decade, but Audi finally has a serious contender for the top spot. We can only hope it's the start of a new wave of U.S.-bound RS models and not just another one-off project that will soon disappear like too many others before it." http://www.edmunds.com/audi/rs7/2014/road-test.html |

meh - Audi will never compete with BMW's driving dynamics and it's racing heritage.

I'm actually intrigued by this car. looks nice. and in the real world, driven by the average driver, AWD cars will always have much more usable power. that said, rear wheel drive dynamics are still superior in most ways and more engaging to drive. can't just mash the gas and go. a lot more user input is required, and that's where the fun is at for car enthusiasts. most drivers are not enthusiasts though, and they will love this car because driving it will make them feel like senna. but I'm preaching to the choir here.

I thought the Audi "7" cars were considered 4-door coupes, thus more closely compare to the M-B CLS and BMW 6GC cars. We have a black 7 car around here, and from a distance I do a double-take thinking it's another BMW 6. It's a looker, for sure.

My wife and I were at the Audi dealership last night and they had two rs7. I really liked them but I did not ask anyone to test drive. I should have.

Audi has dominated pretty much all endurance and rally events. They would have won more classes if they weren't banned for beating everybody else so badly. There's no question AWD offers almost an unfair advantage in racing...

Not too excited about the rear. AWD is nice and it would be very usable for me since we go to the snow very often. Audi has a a lot of racing history, it just never made it to the US. These two are my all time favorite Audi cars.

I read somewhere that Audi had to use an automatic transmission in the RS7 because their Dual clutch unit cannot handle the torque? Is that true? Can't they use a tranny from the R8?

But the R8 V10 +Plus still doesn't make that much torque.

I don't know about the rs7, but here in town my wife and I were looking at two rs5 yesterday at the dealership. They looked good. I want one. They look pretty aggressive. Sticker price was 70k
