First tire change on the M5!
So just wanted to get everyone's view on the best tires and size to put on the m5! Not sure if I wanna jump up in size with my stock rims but I do love the PSS, Any other options that people like?

I agree with Grayblack and PSS is the way to go. I had Falkens and I didn't like them although they were briefly on my 21s. Look through the Board since you may qualify for the Michelin guarantee if your treadwear is less than a certain mileage.

What mileage did you make it to before requiring new tires?

305's on a 10 inch wheel is not optimal- it should be on an 11.... you guys can do it but its gonna have some carryover. And PSS's run square already on the sidewall.
But as Jose posted above they are here stateside.

I think the recommended wheel size fro 305 PSS is 10"-11". I know in researching my new wheels the contact patch is the same in a 10.5" vs 11". You will get some sidewall stretch in the 11". I have them on my F10 in 21". I am not sure I would go 10" though. Prob. min. of 10.5" just because of the square sidewall.

That's one good reason to go with the style 601M with the comp pak for new buyers -- 10.5" width will work better with a 305. Glad to see they finally made it over here.
What do you mean by "carryover"? |

I'm definitely looking at the 305 30 20 setup when I need new shoes for my stock 20x10 wheels. Doing the math, the 305 is .4" wider and .23" taller. In fact the 305 30s give you the same sidewall as the stock 265 35 20 front tires. The stock rear 295 30 20s are actually shorter than the stock front tires.
Vic has a good point (as usual) that it may not be optimal, however Micheline does rate the 305 30 for a 10" rim. All that said, I think the .2" (+.4" section width /2) on each side of the rim will offer slightly more rim protection from curbing while still providing a nice filled in yet square look. Also the extra tread width should help with traction. Now I just need one of you brave souls to try the 305s out for me and post a review with pics! |

For those running 21s you can install Michelin PSS 265/30 and 305/25. That is what I'm running now with wheel sizes 9.5 and 10.5. You just need to make sure your offsets are just right.

This is a "cut and paste" from the invoice I received from ADV1 to replace one rear wheel from an accident (not my fault) I got into recently. As you can see, unfortunately it does not include the offset information. If you have 21s or thinking of getting 21s, then I suggest you contact Ben @ Wheels Boutique. He'll know the correct offset!
