Central NJ ///M Get-Together, Group Cruise and rooftop Barbecue: September 28
[Admin: Kindly cross post on all ///M fora]
Dear All, Let's pull this off. I am happy to organize and plan on all the bells and wistles. Here is what I envision: 1) Meet at 10 am in beautiful Lambertville at the Station Inn parking lot. The early birds can get breakfast at the Inn. I could organize drinks and music. If we are really good, we could try to get real Bavarian prezels (Brezn) and cheese spread (O-Bazda). 2) 11 am: Group cruise (or race who wants) of hopefully an awe-dropping ///M army of E60/E90/E92/F10 etc. from Lambertville to Princeton. I would choose the following mix of wonderfully scenic country roads with some high speed I-95 segments: 3) 12 noon to 3pm: Get-Together in Princeton on the roof top of Spring Street Garage (just the top level fits 80 cars, should it rain, we can still move to level 4 with equal space but dry. I will see if we can officially barbecue on the roof top, possibly catered by one of the many local restaurants and we will hire a band. Princeton is perfectly worth a visit for shopping, great culinary excursions and University Campus Tours for all those that need extra motivation. Of course I will see to hook up with BMW of Princeton and maybe they can make this event even more special. Please reply if you are in and if you have additional ideas. Depending on response, I will go to the next level of organization. Of course I would love to learn from all those that have pulled off a stunt like this before. Thank you. (H) |

Wow, I am genuinely overwhelmed with the massive flood of replies and the enthusiastic, almost ecstatic, reaction from the astounding number of participants. ;-(((
Anybody has a clue what I am doing wrong? Or are there simply no bimmerpost readers in my neck of the wood? Last edited by (H); 09-13-2013 at 09:47 PM.. |

Thanks so much for your replies. Right now it looks like we have six people confirmed with @chudak18 possibly bringing extra troops.
This would be a great turnout for a new local chapter of the M5-Army. However, I don't think it would justify organizing additional activities around it. Hence, I would suggest that we stick to the plan as laid out above (meeting in Lambertville and then cruise to Princeton) only that in Princeton, we can meet on the rooftop of Spring Street Garage and then spontaneously decide if we want to simply go and have lunch at Witherspoon Grill. What do you think? Anybody else wants to join? |

Ran into a white F10 ///M5 yesterday on Rt 1 and invited him as well. So we are currently seven confirmed. Would be great if we could get it to a dozen ///M5s.

Oh, of course, any ///M car, 5, 3, E, F, doesn't matter. Also, really to clarify: I am not making the rules. I am just initiating to pull this off. Seems like the West Coast is so much more active when it comes to spontaneous gatherings. Trying to pull together the Eastern Conference here ;-)
@boots, good idea, will post on the other ///M fora as well. Last edited by (H); 09-13-2013 at 09:48 PM.. |

I was just at Lambertville on Tuesday for a special event with Car & Driver Magazine and BMW USA. The scenery is gorgeous. Hope you guys have fun!

I ran into a fellow ///M owner at the WF parking lot on Rt. 1. The gentleman drove a shiny new moonstone F10. Told him about our little get together and asked him to check bimmerpost.com for details (as I had to get out of the way for other shoppers). Hope he sees this and joins.
