Gruppe Intake + Akrapovic Exhaust?
Recently I purchased an 2013 M5 f10 space grey metallic that had already been modded with a Gruppe carbon fiber intake and an Akrapovic titanium exhaust.
My questions are: 1. Does my car need an ECU tune in order to reap the benefits of the modifications? 2. Without an ECU tune, is it possible the modifications are damaging to the motor? 3. What are other preformance modifications that I can add that would go great with the exhaust and intake that won't void my warranty? (any recommended after my warranty is ended?) Ive searched around but I am very NOOB to car modifications and I am a little confused. Links to threads to help answer my questions would also be helpful because some of this is probably a repost. |

The mods you have shouldn't damage the car. I assume the intake puts the MAF sensors in the same spot and uses the same size tubing at that point. The computer should be able to adjust for the increased air flow without issues.

The ECU will adjust; however, you would benefit the most if you had a full tune. 2. Without an ECU tune, is it possible the modifications are damaging to the motor? 100% NOT 3. What are other preformance modifications that I can add that would go great with the exhaust and intake that won't void my warranty? (any recommended after my warranty is ended?) It really depends on how friendly you are with the dealer. Catless downpipes will provide the most amount of hp and tq, but then again most dealers would not like it if you brought your car in for warranty work. I have a friendly SA who overlooks the CEL caused by catless downpipes. You can do bunch of piggy back maps that are available on the market as well.
