Active sound
A few questions about the active sound. My understanding is it is the engine vs exhaust that is played? Is it just using a microphone by the engine so it is the actual sounds or is it a generic soundtrack? Also, if you put on a performance exhaust does that change anything? Thanks

If you put a performance exhaust on the car, the sound of the exhaust will drown out the Active Sound mostly with the windows down. Window up however, you will still hear the Active Sound mostly, unless you get a very loud exhaust system. The soundproofing in the F10 is so good that it will dampen any outside sounds a lot. Good for the Bang & Olufsen system, but bad for those who want to enjoy the soundtrack of their engine and exhaust with the windows up.
