Judging by the press release pictures there may not be a heated steering wheel or butt massagers.
Also that price is pretty crazy. Is there an option for CCB's? They should at least include those for that price.

So which is it? 592 or 600hp? Only 8 hp, but it'd be nicer to say 600.

People complaining that the extra power will be useless in the first few gears have either never driven an M5 or need to learn to be smooth with the throttle. If you hammer the gas suddenly, of course it will light up the rear tires, but the M5 has no problem hurling itself forward even in 1st gear. An extra 30 horsepower isn't going to spoil that especially when they're saying the traction and stability control systems have been recalibrated. |

Wow, it comes with like 20HP more over the OEM competition pack, and that's about all you're really getting performance-wise for that extra $40k? What's with all these stupid special editions? It's just badging crap and decals. I'd rather get an individual M5 for the price.

and there was something else said about improved M differential? mainly for traction upon exiting corners. plus, it is 1/30. I can safely assume that all 30 will sell haha. |

It is 600hp. BMW rates the M5 in Europe at 560PS hp (metric hp measurement). If you would convert that to SAE hp, which is the hp rating shown in the US, it would convert to 552hp. However, BMW USA markets the M5 with 560hp here in the US as well. I think BMW knows that the engine is making more than the 560hp in any horsepower measurement (DIN, PS, JIS, SAE..etc) so they feel comfortable leaving the 560 hp rating. Similarly, the CP is rated 575hp in US and Europe but it would convert to 567 SAE from 575PS. As I mentioned before, I believe BMW will stick with the 600 hp rating on the 30th edition as it does with it's other M5 versions.

I don't know fellas, I would really love to have one of these, but since my chance of getting one is probably 0, I think I would be equally happy with a 2015 CP Individual in the frozen color of my choice. Fully loaded would probably still come in under the price of the anniversary edition. The only thing it would be missing is the special edition badges and those few extra HP that I would probably never miss. In the mean time, I'll keep driving my pre-LCI and enjoying every minute of it.

Really like the extensive alcantara with contrast stitch on the interior.
Any guess on what the basis for the new frozen color is? Could be so simple as frozen mineral gray?

The extra power is nice but that's all I can see being a real "benefit" to this. Certainly not worth the money. I don't even really like the colors, also don't see how the bit of extra power and the badges are worth 18k over what a 2014 with CP/Assit/Exec/B&O/Individual Pain/Full Leather costs (120,625). They can keep it. You could have one loaded and still have money left over. Would much rather have that. Would never get rear seat entertainment, so loaded minus that is about 132,725 with Individual paint, for the extra 5.5k or so you could do DPs, exhaust, a piggyback, and springs/spacers. And still have cash left over. Not impressed.
