I still think it should have been black on tan in honor of Black Bart.

Wow! I wonder if it will have a 199mph limit for all markets? Namely the U.S. market, where every single BMW is limited to 155mph. I'd pay $138k if they let me have an M5 that could do 199mph in the United States.

For this kind of money, I would look at an S63 AMG.

Yep, one is a tweaked RWD mid size sedan, built on a chassis described by reviewers as 'compromised', 'engine in search of chassis', while the other is a tweaked AWD full size luxury sedan, built on a chassis described as 'quite possibly the best luxury sedan in the world'. Apples and oranges indeed.

This thing is expensive but an S63 is just getting started at 140k and you're missing out on a lot that makes it worth having at that price. Also not going to be as fast or handle as well.

What's it missing?

Faster and handle better? Watch some vids from Russian drag events, S63 hooks up like Velcro and smokes M5 off the line and continues to pull away, while M5 smokes it's rear tires trying to hook up. Besides, people that buy a 4 door luxo sedan, value prestige, comfort and luxury, where hyper speed is a given. S class blows the 5er away when it comes to luxury attributes.

Does anyone know if there's special purchasing requiremeints? Or is it standard BMW Financial offerings, such as lease, loan etc.

MB site says 0-60 is 3.9s. M5 is 3.8 and this one 3.7.

I agree on the luxury side, MB always is the best there. But it also looks like you're a chauffeur.

99% of these comments are from people who have probably never driven or even ridden in an M5 obviously or probably any of these cars ...nothing like pulling comments out of your a$$
