So M5 comes with no RFT?
So as the day gets closer to delivery, does the m5 come with rft? Now im having second thoughts about wheel and tire insurance. Is it worth it i was quoted for $2600 but i dropped him down to $2,000. Im 100% doing the insurance due to potholes bending the wheels in nyc. But does the m5 come with a spare?

I purchased the wheel and tire insurance and this winter alone I've had three tires and two rims replaced...worth every penny to me.

i was just quoted "a little over $1,000" on saturday. should have the final number in the coming days - i take ED on Thursday and decided at the last minute. $2,600 probably also includes a life time supply of cronuts for your CA and the dealership hahahahha.

I just blew one out... I also paid 1500 so they're getting an extra 500 on you but I'm guessing given NYC being notoriously worse for pot holes its probably been evaluated thats a more reasonable rate. I'm at 14k miles and I just blew one out, If you drive hard and fast in your area I'd just do it.... I'm sure by the end the numbers might not have been worth it maybe you get half your money back but in the end the peace of mind knowing all rims and tires are covered (I'm only at 8/32 tread life and I beat the living s* out of the car) was worth it to me. Nope lol I sat from 4:20 till 6:30 and then the 20 minute ride 5 miles to the dealer lol didn't get home till 7:50 |

I can't remember having a spare in an ///M car since we owned a '91 E34 M5. I think the E36 M3 may have had one, but every ///M car since then has not had a spare tire.

BMW M does not equip M5 models with run flats because they don't meet the requirements for the car.
In other words, if you need run flats, then a 550 or 650 is probably the better choice.

I just blew a tire in the middle of nowhere, with full trunk and two small children in the back seat, waited for three hours for a tow truck. Continued my trip with my RRS. The car was towed home, waited 3 days for a spare tire, costing 300euros.
By the way the repair kit, does nothing if the hole is a big one, as is in most cases with low profile tires. It just repairs small dents |

Side note: you only can purchase the wheel and tire insurance at delivery, you can't come back after you drive the car off the lot and purchase it.

You can order the TIRE insurance from America's Tire / Discount Tire as long as the tires are new enough.
This covers road hazard for the tires and is way cheaper than buying it through the dealership. It does not include wheel insurance though, tire only. Costs me $40/tire and is well worth it.
