Best way to make the exhaust note sound better
M5 is almost everything, i ever wanted in a automobile.
but only thing i wish, could have been better is the exhaust sound... I can hardly hear the engine note in this cabin. The buzzing noise is further screwing up the experience. What is the best way to enhance the exhaust system with out breaking my ear drums. Just wanted to enjoy the engine note without sounding like a hillbilly Thanks in advance and appreciate your time to respond Last edited by ImperialBlue; 09-05-2014 at 10:57 PM.. |

Spend $9-10k and get the M-Perf Exhaust...or... Akra for slightly less.
Best sounding, most appropriate exhaust for the M5, IMO. Not too loud, and has an exotic sound to it.

I would recommend Akra exhaust (or M Performance Exhaust) they are both the same besides the tips (which could be swapped). It's expensive, there are cheaper exhausts out there.
The cheapest way for slightly louder exhaust is the exhaustmeister which allows for manual control over the exhaust valves. Comes with a remote that can be programmed to the M5 garage door opener buttons (home link buttons on the mirror).

Thanks for all the suggestions folks, appreciate the input..
Just a curious question does these exhausts sound great for the driver with the windows closed or just for the bystanders Last edited by ImperialBlue; 09-06-2014 at 06:09 PM.. |

I am.very happy with this setup
1. CP Mufflers retrofitted to LCI M5 2. Exhaust Meister 3. Resonators Delete And hey listen I personally don't think I could tolerate louder - in or out !! I get complements all the time about how mean it is and how Lider than E60 stock it is recently !! Cost total around 750$ !! if you sell your non CP mufflers

Again a very nice cheap set up, Reason I did this is being a lease but if I own my cars for longer periods like 5 years or so I would have done Akra |
