RPI scoops more power
Has anyone who has RPi scoops felt more power or something different in the car? Or is it just for looks?

In the E60 M5 (V10 NA) I purchased and installed them. They gave the motor more air and in return a little more power. Only seen after 70mph. That was the consensus.
I don't really think they would do as much for the F10 M5. Haven't considered it.

I have them on my M6 Gran Coupe and my E60 M5. They definitely make a difference from a roll, as it drives the air into the intakes more efficiently. I notice it in both cars. I also have the block off plates, so that helps too.

I would like to see dyno charts from multiple vehicles showing that this is a worthy mod.
I understand the concept and it does work but don't know if it is worth the money. AFE intakes offer the same design and I think it is cheaper in cost. Does the exact same thing |

Pardon my ignorance, what are "block off plates"?

I have no clue why BMW wanted the hot ambient air from the engine compartment allowed into the intake air stream. I doubt there's much difference in power from any of the three configurations. I've left my snorkels in place, although to my thinking the block off plate makes the most sense. |
