M5 Ordered
Hello,
I've just placed my order for my M5: Singapore Grey Sakhir Extended 343M 20" Wheels HK System Sun protection glass Adaptive LED Headlights Comfort Access Reversing camera Speed Limit Display Surround view including top view and side view cameras 12v Power Sockets Split Folding Rear Seats Potentially it's build week 48 with delivery week 51 so a fairly rapid turnaround. I've come from an F30 335d mainly due to having three young kids and not having enough room for all the car seats to fit in the back. The two eldest kids are both little speed demons so they are going to approve of the room and the vroom I'm a bit sorry to see it go but onwards and upwards

Congrats, you will not regret it.
Picked my M5 up today from Edingbrugh and drove to Southampton. Great drive and very fast and that was running in at below 4k rpm. Retained 27 mpg which I was happy with to! Roll on the 1200 mile service.

Did you go to Edinburgh just to get the car? You must have had a great deal for that? What spec did you go for? At least you'll be nearly half way to the 1200

The deal was 12% discount with a £2000 dealer contribution and 0% on a 4 year PCP.
I think I would struggle to get better and the car was not even pre registered with 8 miles on the clock. The spec was alpine white, with the extended leather, electric tail gate, priv glass, comfort seats, multimedia pack, 20 Matt black alloys, heated rear seats and a couple of extra things but I cannot remember. The drive home was great and managed 27 mpg at a steady cruise which considering it's running in not bad. Opened it up a couple of times and wow what a car, so much better than my old E60 M5. One very happy consumer. Look forward to seeing yours when it arrives as spec looks great and brill colour choice.

The drive home must have been great and what better way to start the running in process! 27mpg is pretty impressive for a car like this, I think I'm hoping to get 20mpg so anything more would be a bonus. I still have another 6 weeks until the expected delivery week which is going to feel like a very long wait

It will be worth the wait.
Your 335 looks lovely mind but as said you don't get that petrol head feeling when you get into it do you! Look forward to seeing the new toy.
