Removing chromed tips on Eisenmann exhaust
I ordered Eisenmann Sport mufflers for my M5, yet before installation I am planning to modify it a little bit. What I really don't like about most of the aftermarket exhausts is the length of the pipes. After long drive and proper warm up they stick way over the line making tips very visible what absolutely drive me nuts. I was trying to order 1,5 inch shorter exhaust but I was informed such an option doesn't exist.
I'm wondering either it's possible to remove chromed tips , cut inch of the pipes and weld the tips back again ? From what I've seen it looks like the tips are welded only in two spots (top and bottom) Anyone tried to remove the tips on Eisenmann exhaust ? Is it doable ? BTW, some owners paint their tips black. I suppose they have to be removed first , am right on that ? Thanks Z. |

The Eisenmann tips are welded to the canister. As a result, we do not recommend removal, but the exhaust can be removed and powder coated or ceramic coated. Ceramic is more durable, but gloss options are very limited.
