Sport display is this:
http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showpos...2&postcount=22

Does anyone have a working sport display that can send us their VO and ncd so we can see what values have changed?

FYI. Most 2015 models still have mechanical wastegates, so it shouldn't be a wastegate issue that's preventing the sport display from functioning in the older M5's.

From Dinan's piggyback:
http://www.dinancars.com/product/d44...or-bmw-f10-m5/

Note at the bottom from Dinan:
Techical note: The DINANTRONICS Performance Tuner currently only works with vehicles equipped with mechanical wastegates with a production end date of 12/2014. Vehicles with a production date of 1/2015 and newer will have a electronic wastegate and will not work with the DINANTRONICS Performance Tuner.

Nothing major, when I entered an address and went to start guidance it zoomed out to show the full route, then zoomed back in to the route, the map seemed better scrolling was smoother with more terrain detail etc...

No news about this? Can it be coded with the gauges working or still no way to make them work?

My m5 is 2014 LCI and I don't have the sport display option in my iDrive, is there anyway to get it working?

No! Even if you code it to appear it still wont work. Hell mine even says my car has 80hp and 80nm of torque, thats about right I guess....

I just changed from a 2015 M5 to 2014. I hadn't noticed that the sport display doesn't work but honestly it's no big thing. I looked at it once or twice and it's really of no value. Bottom line: you're not missing anything.

I wonder if you can only have sport display if your car has electronic controlled waste gates IIRC cars built up to 2014 have mechanical ones?

Could be rubbish and I've no idea why that would make a difference...just a thought?

Good question!
It's a display within iDrive that shows two dials. One for HP and one for TQ.

Pulled this from a website

The Sports Display is a very nice feature to have for all BMW owners but sadly it hasn`t been activated on all the BMW F10 cars. It will display the instant horse power and torque the car is using. So why wasn`t this feature activated in the first place? Well I guess BMW wanted this feature active only on the performance engines? We might never know the reason but one this is clear: It`s a cool feature but it doesn`t work on all engine types.
The Sports Display menu will appear in your iDrive.

Here's a video I did a while back of my sports display. I have a 2015 M5 (Non-CP, US Spec)

Is it because it's a 2015 that it works? 2013 and it doesn't work here. Would love if it would.

It's related to a signal from one of the DME's to Kombi and relayed to HU_NBT. I stumbled upon the programming values in some of the btld, swfl, and uds_job files. Was totally zoned in on resolving GFHB and forgot to make a note of which files these were in.

There are setting for brand BMW and Rolls Royce, motor type and power class, numerical output values ("actual" and power reserve in % for RR), as well as Performance Upgrade settings.

I promise to find them again and post them up. If anyone can determine a way to use them or have a dealer reprogram, many of you will be happy for 15 mins

I had a 2013 M5 (US spec) at one point and didn't have this option either.

From what I've read in the past you can actually enable the display itself via coding but the dials will not display any readings. I'm assuming that either new/different sensors have been added or that there is additional coding buried somewhere that is required to get this working.

2013.3 M5 did not have sport display.
2016.3 M5 has the functioning sport displays

That's all I can confirm about that as I have owned both model years.

It's nothing too special IMO.

I just did some basic coding using http://www.bimmer-tech.net/ with my USB thumb drive, was really easy. Unfortunately they do not offer Euro MDM Coding. However, they list sports display and i ran it with my Vin and it says it is available. I am 2014, i emailed them to check to see if it is possible. I will see what they come back with.

Yes, by their way of coding which is just downloading it onto a USB stick insert into USB port and upload to iDrive. I have the compass (Xdrive info, like incline, decline, angle and compass heading and had the RDC Safety which shows tire temps and air pressure. It was really easy and happy with it so far.

I wish they had Euro MDM available.

Well they were able to do sports display on my 14. However, it is not functional and just sitting at 0/0 when accelerating, also it just reads 80hp/80-ft-lbs. I emailed the company and will see what they come back with. Makes me think the pre-2015's are missing hardware to be able to read this information.

Anything up to 07.2014 builds won't support it. Requires MEVD172H DME's
