Alfa after BMW M5?
I'm trying to get excited about what the next car will be after the M5. The M5 has been a great car but I am not feeling that excitement for the next generation of it and the M6/M4(yes make your KING jokes)/M3/M2 isn't a compelling option for me. I do want something lighter/smaller.
The only thing that has really peaked my interest is the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio. https://www.alfaromeousa.com/cars/al...a-quadrifoglio Anyone else have an interest there? Been part of an eary test drive experience? Has a friend of a friend that works at an Alfa dealership? |

Honestly I don't think you can go german anymore lol
If you just want solid tech, upgraded reliability and good power per dollar and status then you buy German. But they really in my experience between MB, BMW, and Audi are just detached Autobahn cruisers. |

If on the other hand you love hanging out at the dealership and drinking free coffee, then you want a car you take to the dealer for repairs every month - i.e. you buy Italian.

I understand from reviews that the Quadrifoglio does not feel like it has over 500 bhp. Probably a very optimistic claim by the manufacturer. In truth, I expect it to struggle to put distance between it and the new Comp Pack M3.

I watched the Chris Harris review last night - definitely not a slam dunk. But, I think it will be worth a drive once it is state side.

My buddies McLaren Mp4 has been flawless so far, I think he's over 6500 miles and daily drives it. I'd go with that but I agree, its really a flip of the coin with Italian if you get one thats solid or you live at the dealership.

I to this day rave about my E92 M3, even my short lived E60 M5 attempt that I had for a month before it needed 14k in repairs. Those are defining cars for the brand. These cars aren't. |

I din know u feel the same abt the E92 M3 as I do Agree on the current M3/M4. I got nothing much out of the test drive I took couple of years back. I have yet to sample a comp pack car as mentioned by Vic. I din know the sound has been improved. Interesting!

Its all in the software apparently and the center section-- no raspy tingy crap anymore and in fact, a nice bit of burble on the over run. The ZCP has redialed dampeners, MDM, steering, and few other things much like the S63tu ZCP. It surprised me to say the least.

No bmw dealer would give me over 55k for it sticker was 79.9 (they kinda knew the deal with a 9 month old car with 27k miles on it lol), except one who offered 61k on the assumption I took an X6m on the lot lol. Carmax offered me 60k for it, cashed out took the check lol [also drove it 200 miles in the 5 day window I had since it was unlimited miles ] They sold it to a dealership in Georgia and they listed it for 75k [I was pissed thinking it was worth it], there it sat for 5 months as they CPOed the car, then dropped it to 65k, then another 3 months go by they dropped it to 61.9. vanished a month or two after that lol |

I was always a big proponent of NEW NEW NEW, but tech and power and refinement can only do so much when you've removed the joy of driving. Don't get me wrong I had fun in the M5 and M4, but within the first 8k miles I'd experienced almost everything the cars could do and was over them. |

Forget about it.
Every car enthusiast loves the brand but they keep fucking it up. They've been off the stage for so long now (156-159...), There's no way in the world they can keep up with Audi/Merc/BMW. You can't win on the basis of heritage and a beautiful badge alone. I would only consider alfa again after the germans have taken over.
