E63 S acceleration
Finally some test figures. This one done Auto Bild (they are pretty much the only one does 0-300, SA doesn't use track long enough for 0-300 but they do test them on the ring which Auto Bild does not).

No subsequent German magazine M6 coupe test ever came close to that though. They are usually in the 34~35 range (the last M6 coupe (600HP) done by Auto Bild did 35.1). Where as the RS7 performance has consistently been tested at 32~33 range.
So that 30 seconds M6 coupe is an outlier to me. |

Thanks for posting. Good stuff!
Maybe I'm missing it, but I can't see if they list the Curb Weight for the new E63S and the RS7 Performance in that article. Either way you look at it, the new E63S in stock form is certainly a fast car. It should definitely give the F90 M5 a run for its money.

Yeah the AMG is now even heavier than the usual pig in this segment, which is the Audi. I don't remember the weight of the new Porsche Pam Turbo but I'm pretty certain it's over 2000 Kg as well.
Looks like BMW is the only one in this segment who even cares trying to keep it under 2000 Kg. |

As of this writing BMW hasn't officially released the curb weight figures for the F90 M5 yet. When the F90 Prototypes were unveiled to journalists, they cited curb weight figures that were wildly inconsistent. Therefore we will have to wait and see, at least until next week what BMW states will be the final curb weight figure for the F90. I do bet that it will be lighter than the E63S, but by how much I don't think I can even take a guess right now. There is still so much we don't know about the F90 in terms of weight savings efforts. No word yet on what the doors will be made out of, carbon fiber drive shaft? Carbon Fiber Hood? I think I did read the F90 M5 may get a Carbon Fiber Trunk/Boot, that's unconfirmed I think. We do know the F90 will get a Carbon Fiber Roof option, where we also know that the E63S will not have that. We may know all next week apparently.

The new Panamera Turbo was 2079kg here
http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/v...hnische-daten/ M6 GC was 1981kg and the RS7 was 2023kg in the same test, but they haven't uploaded an E63s test yet. |

Funny with that central muffler looking thing, it seems like the exhaust note will be quieter than the F10. Lol!
