Yup, people are generally missing the point, the AMG is heavier than the M5 and I expect the M5 remains the more driver focussed car; the AMG had been faster in a straight line but may well not be so, straight line or imo almost certainly on the track.

the latest tests have the E63 with a tune pulling 2.78 seconds to 60 so thats still slower but who cares when there is an exhaust roaring!!!!!!!

Exactly, in the 1/4 The P100DL is hard to beat, but not a problem from a roll as the 100d does 125mph in the 1/4, considerably lower than the 130mph tune-only e63...When spending that kind of money, why not have it all! Have you heard the new M5 with bmw sport exhaust, better than the F10 4sure

The F10 was just a sheer disappointment to me from an external exhaust and then that damn sound symposium was stupid. I had to buy an exhaust for my first F10 M5 and F13 M6, my last F10 (2016) had the M Performance aka Akra on it and that was pretty damn good.

Yes, the Tesla is an animal from a stop, they would need a tune and drag radials to come close. However from a roll these tune-only Germans will destroy a P100D.

If you think the M5 looks like the M3, then you for sure have to think the E63 and C63 are twins. I can agree that in some photos, there are some resemblances between the F90 and F80, but the E63 and C63 look just alike in photos and on the road. Mercs are all starting to look exactly alike. And that's my gripe with the E63 and C63, they look very similar to the standard models. And the standard models look soft.

M5 should be slightly better, however look how similar the times of this E63 are to a 991.1 Turbo from 2014:
C/D TEST RESULTS: Zero to 60 mph: 2.6 sec Zero to 100 mph: 6.5 sec Zero to 150 mph: 16.5 sec Rolling start, 5-60 mph: 3.8 sec Top gear, 30-50 mph: 2.1 sec Top gear, 50-70 mph: 2.3 sec Standing ¼-mile: 10.8 sec @ 126 mph Top speed (drag limited, mfr's est): 198 mph Braking, 70-0 mph: 144 ft Roadholding, 300-ft-dia skidpad: 1.09 g Incredible these sedans are approaching supercar performance.... by 150mph the E63 has caught the Turbo |

More comparos, these are a dime a dozen and dont show the conditions or when each race took place either but they are very close to each other. Ill still say that the AMG running at over 400 lbs heavier is doing a great job:
